(A, B) control (cells without treatment); (C, D) cells treated with 50 μM and (E, F) with 500 μM of Rh2(H2cit)4; (G, H) cells treated with 10 nM paclitaxel for 2 h. Arrows and arrow heads indicate nuclear fragmentation and chromatin condensation, respectively. Phase-contrast images are presented for validation of fluorescence (Figure 8B, D, F, H).
