Overview of the spotting method. Spotting is carried out on a biotin functionalized glass surface. Neutravidin is spotted as a linking element, followed by binding of a biotin functionalized oligonucleotide. Further spots and addressing can be added by repeated spotting without replacing the surface. The cycle of spotting and binding can be repeated several times to compile the array [17].
