Zone of inhibition test using Kirby–Bauer disc diffusion assay against gram- negative and gram-positive organisms. The zone of inhibition around discs containing MIC concentrations of SWCNTs-Ag and pSWCNTs-Ag and the broad spectrum antibiotic amoxicillin–clavulanic acid (30 μg) can be clearly seen for both, the gram- negative pathogens such as (a) Escherichia coli and (b) Salmonella Typhimurium; and gram-positive pathogens such as (c) Streptococcus pyogenes and (d) Staphylococcus aureus. The numbers indicated are; 1: antibiotic control; 2: SWCNTs-Ag (62.5 μg/mL); 3: SWCNTs-Ag (31.25 μg/mL); 4: pSWCNTs-Ag (62.5 μg/mL); 5: pSWCNTs-Ag (31.25 μg/mL).
