In vivo tissue distribution of MSCs labeled with Au NPs at concentrations of 10 and 50 nM for 48 h. Mice were injected in their tail vain with 50 μL of Au NP labeled MSCs (i.e. 106 cells, which had been incubated with 10 or 50 nM Au NPs for 48 h). Alternatively, mice were injected in their tail vain with 50 μL of Au NPs at a concentration of 1300 nM. After 72 h, mice were sacrificed and the amount mAu of Au in the different organs was determined with ICP-MS. The data show the mass of Au found per mass of organ from 5 independent experiments (n = 5)
