NAC attenuates SiO2 NP-induced cytotoxicity. A Intracellular ROS levels were measured at 6 h after SiO2 NP treatment with and without pretreatment with 10 mM NAC for 1 h. B ROS levels were monitored by CLSM, which showed that the ROS level increased at 6 h after exposure to SiO2 NPs at a concentration of 40 μg/mL (C) ATP content was evaluated at 12 h after treatment with SiO2 NPs with and without pretreatment with 10 mM NAC for 1 h.
