Photodynamic therapy in vivo. a Schematic representation of the protocol. C57BL/6 J mice were inoculated with 0.5 × 106 MC38 cells in the right flank. At 7 days after inoculation, when tumors were established (~ 125 mm3), the mice were intravenously injected with the ZnPc-EVs in the tail vein. At 6, 24 and 48 h after administration, the tumors were illuminated with 690 nm light at 333 mW/cm2 for 100 J/cm2 per treatment, after which the tumor size was measured over time. b Tumor growth curves, c weight and d survival of the animals displayed over time.
