The nano armamentarium to combat AMR. NPs can attach the microbial cell wall and penetrate it, thus causing structural changes in the cell membrane permeability leading to cell death. NPs target at the cell membrane, leading to dissipation of proton motive force thus blocking the oxidative phosphorylation. NPs have ability to produce ROS that can cause DNA damage leading to cell death. They can impel the shape and function of cell membrane, interact with DNA, ribosomes, lysosomes, and enzymes, promoting fluctuations in cell membrane permeability, oxidative stress, heterogeneous alterations, enzyme inhibition, electrolyte balance disorders, protein deactivation, and changes in gene expression leading to bacterial cell death
