Flushing experiments simulating the in vivo situation. Retention capacity of the tube or platelet and tube, respectively, during flushing of the system with non-MNP-containing deionized water. The lowest r transfer and therefore the highest accumulation of MNPs could be found when the platelet remains in place after removal of the magnets (r transfer = 0.13 ± 0.03).
