The PLGA-PEG mediated PS-341 delivery to murine lungs controls Pa -LPS induced oxidative stress. The Cftr-/- mice (n = 3, each group) were treated with Pa-LPS and/or PLGA-PEGPS341. The PLGA-PEGPS341 treated mice exhibited significant increase in Nrf2 (major antioxidant response transcription factor) expression and nuclear localization leading to decrease in LPS induced oxidative stress as seen by NOS2 immunostaining. Changes in nuclear (Nrf2) and total protein (NOS2) expression levels are shown in bottom panels (densitometry units). The PLGA-PEG mediated PS-341 lung delivery controls Pa-LPS induced oxidative stress. Scale: white bar = 50 μm, red bar = 10 μm.
