Viability of cancerous cell (MCF-7, human) spheroids expressed as arbitrary units (au) of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) activity in the culture supernatant (a and b). Spheroids were exposed to different concentrations of S444 (expressed as μM of AlPc) for 30 min (a) or 60 min (b) and were then kept in the dark or irradiated (660 nm, 4.4 J/cm2).
