Mitochondrial metabolic parameters were calculated from oxygen consumption rates following 24-h exposures to neutral-FLG (a), amine-FLG (b), carboxyl-FLG (c) and CB (d). Mitochondrial activity was monitored using the Seahorse Bioanalyser with the TT1 cell setup in 24-well plates. Injection compounds and cellular seeding densities had been previously optimised for use with 24-well plates (data not shown). Results were considered significant (*) when p < 0.05. Data is presented as the average value ± the standard deviation (SD), (N = 3)
