The absorption and transport of TG and TG-mimetic prodrug into the mesenteric lymphatics. In the GIT lumen, TG or TG prodrug is digested by lipases to release 2-monoglyceride and fatty acids, which are absorbed into enterocytes to form new TG derivatives. These TG derivatives are then assembled into lipoproteins and are exocytosed into the underlying lamina propria.
